The MFFL DRAFT is scheduled for Saturday August 29th
What has the Mooseknuckle League provided? An escape, a provided distraction. Camaraderie. And a chance to see a man in a dress at least once a year. In the end, somebody walks away with a fistful of cash and the glorious Lombardi Trophy.
Bathrooms? No where to be found.
Air Conditioning? Think again.
WiFi? Not a Chance.
Things were different back then. We had to get creative. But this is where the league started. In 'The Dome', a 12-Team league, and a dream.
We started some wonderful traditions in the dome. Ones that still get carried out today. And Jon Jakusz became the First Champ of the Mooseknuckle League.
Now we're talking. The league started to get a little more sophisticated. Teams increasing. League Fees increasing. Hammock boners intensifying.
The Prevailing Winds Lodge in Blue Mounds Wisconsin was the ultimate draft day location, with a Moose directly above the fireplace. Two years of memorable drafts happened here. Ultimately Rim Ranka got us removed from the guest list. But that ended up being a blessing in disguise.
We're pretty sure this is what heaven must be like.
The Prairie club offers a lot to the Mooseknuckle League. Cheap lodging. Stolen (and broken) Golf Carts. UFC Fights and Madden on the Big Screen. Questionably cooked Burgers and Pizza Rolls on the grill.
Just be sure to check your bed for snakes before you lay your head down at night!
COVID killed the Prairie Club, but the draft is ESSENTIAL. And Zach was there to help us keep it that way.
There was hopes for football to start on time - and because of that - the draft went on without a hitch. For the first time in league history - we had two league managers draft from remote locations. Commissioner and Sacko Matt Dietrich was on the 1s and 2s, keeping the draft board in check, taking requsts as the unofficial MFFL DJ, and he kept everyone adequately hydrated. Most importantly, he looked damn good doing it. We thank Zach for the incredible hospitality and this is yet another draft day that will go down in the history books.
We found ourselves back in a familiar place, and Spring Grove 2021 was our rowdiest draft to date. The wheels fell off around Round 5. We had our first in-person Autodraft occur. Gavin brought TWO dips. There was high stakes betting, bags of wine and Ryan looking his very best. Some teams are in bad shape, others look primed and ready for the season. Regardless of the outcome, this will certainly go down as a memorable season.
Could the Moose go INTERNATIONAL in the years to come? Where will Sacko need to wear a dress? To be Determined...
