The MFFL DRAFT is scheduled for Saturday August 29th
Well boys, the first round of the playoffs has come to a conclusion. Not much to watch as they were both blowouts. First we had Reece vs. Gavin, this one was rough for Reece right from the start with the LA defense dropping 27 on Thursday night. Gavin also had a major advantage in the running back department outscoring Reece by 37.4pts. This was merely a case of who’s hot and who’s not. Gavin came into the playoffs with a hot running back tandem of (acquired) Dalvin Cook and David Montgomery. As for Reece… its never good when you have to start a TE in your flex.
Then there was the matchup between Jake and Trevor. If you take Receivers and Running Backs out of the equation it was a very close matchup. But that 73.3pt. difference in Jakes favor is the reason Trevor will be having a slap fight with Reece for 5th place. You gotta feel for Trevor on this one, Jake came in with his meet hammer already swinging putting up some serious points the past few weeks. Lets just hope for my sake his team slumps next week.
Lets take a brief look at the semifinal matches coming up.
This should be a great matchup, we have #1 ranking Chris Barker who’s team has constantly scored over 140 all year. The only weak point on this team is at the TE position, with Hooper questionable his only other option if wasn’t able to go would be Hurst who has a combined 11 points in the past 4 weeks. As for Gavin, if he wants to come out on top he is going to need big games from Montgomery, Cook and most importantly Carr. Carr has thrown 5 of his 7 picks in the last 4 games, something he will definitely need to avoid in week 15 if he is going to try and match Kyler Murry.
I definitely felt more comfortable about this one before HC Matt Rhule, Rhuled out CMC for week 15. Jake has the advantage in the Matchup department with all of his players going against teams in the bottom half of the league in their respective defenses. I am going to have to pull a miracle out of my ass if Jake goes off like he did last week. The one thing I do have going for me is the Baby luck, Noah will be glued to my lap for every game, better watch out Jake!
