MFFL Chronicles: Sacko Edition
Well ladies and gentleman, we are now down to one more week of the 2020 fantasy football season. Most years we have 2, maybe even 3 managers on the verge of being sacko and sometimes sacko is determined before the last week is even played. NOT this year!!! We have 6 unlucky managers who are hoping to not to be in a dress for the 2021 draft and one of them is fighting to not have a piece of metal hanging from his belly button. I honestly don't know who to root for or against but the 8 other managers want drama. Here are the 6 managers fighting for pants:
Manager Dan: 5-7
Crazy to think that 3 weeks ago there wasn’t much hope for him but he has come back from the dead and out of the 6 managers in the sacko race, he has the least amount of chance to be wearing a dress. He is facing manager Reece this week so a win won't be easy, but win or lose his points speak for themselves. In order for Him to become sacko the following needs to happen: Sarros would need to win and post a score that is 64 points higher than Dan’s. Very unlikely but with a 1% chance of being sacko, you quietly hear Lloyd say the famous line “So you’re telling me there's a chance”. He made the right trades and sold his soul to the fantasy gods for that 1% though. Good for you man.
Manager Tony: 5-7
Oh Boy. The predictions have been off with this one but it has seemed to still put him in a hole. Scoring the least amount of points this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has his measurements figured out for wearing a dress. However, a lot needs to happen in the form of wins for him to become sacko. The following wins needed are: Sarros win over Jake, Kevin win over Zach, Dietrich win over himself and a Jon win over Trevor.
Manager Jon: 4-8
Really sad seeing him down here but just put it on the calendar now because there is know remote drafting if he is sacko. If Jon wins then there is absolutely no chance in becoming sacko but he is going up against Trevor who is fighting for the last spot in the playoffs and after his team blowing up the last 2 weeks to put himself in this position, it is going to be tough. If Jon does lose, the following will need to happen for a dress in his future: Sarros win, Dietrich win or loss but scoring 21 points greater than Jon, a Kevin win or loss but scoring 48 points greater than Jon.
Manager Dietrich: 4-8
Man oh man. Week after week we have seen his team really shit the bed and it has landed him in a spot that looks similar to the ending of the 2016 season when Daily was a last week plunder away in seeing a belly button ring. This is a must win situation to solidify no shot in getting a piercing. Imagine having to tell your daughters they can't have a belly button ring and then them asking “why not?” and having to tell them the reason you are against it is because of personal experience. I may be quietly rooting against this. Fathers to daughters are suppose to be heroes, not examples of poor life choices. If he loses, the following must happen to become sacko: Sarros must min, Kevin can win or lose but have a 27 points greater than Dietrich, Jon can lose but score no less than 21 points than Dietrich.
Manager Kevin: 4-8
Kevin also is in a must win scenario but this win may come with ease as the team he is playing has been pure ass lately averaging 93.17 points in the last 7 weeks and only one of those weeks being over 100 points. However, we have certainly seen crazier things this year so don’t get too comfortable. If Kevin were to lose this week, the following would need to happen: Sarros must win, Dietrich loss but score no less than 27 points that Kevin.
Manager Sarros: 4-8
Not much to be said here other than it really all comes down to Sarros which is why he is the last spoken about. Has the greatest chance at becoming sacko but can turn the tide by beating Jake. His path to sacko is simple, lose and wear a dress. He would need to score 80 points to even catch the next 4-8 manager. IF Sarros pulls off the victory, then the matchup between Tony and Dietrich becomes the center of attention. It has already been said but if Dietrich were to win that matchup then Tony becomes the front runner and awaits the ending of Kevin’s and Jon’s matchups. I’m rooting for a Sarros win as well because of the drama alone. Him winning creates pressure for the other 5 (not so much Dan) and a win still doesn't put him in the clear. Certainly a fantasy year for the ages not only on the field but off.
Betting favorites
Yahoo projections has the season ending with standings 9-14 as:
9. Jon
10. Dietrich
11. Kevin
12. Dan
13. Tony
14. Sarros
My projections based on the hotness of team over the last 2 weeks are:
9. Dan
10. Dietrich
11. Kevin
12. Tony
13. Jon
14. Sarros
I would stay away from taking Dan or Kevin in becoming sacko. Dan is on a hot streak of 4 wins in a row and averaging over 130 points in those 4 weeks. Kevin is playing the worst team in the league this week that has scored a lousy average of 81 points over the last 2 weeks. As for the others, Sarros is the favorite to become the 2020 sacko going up against Jake who averaged
128 points to his 102 points in the last 2 weeks. Will need nothing short of a miracle. Tony and Dietrich face each other with Dietrich projected to win by 7 points in hopes to stay clear. Tony will then only be at the mercy of some other manager sealing his fate. Jon is praying points are enough but has a tough challenge facing one of the hottest teams averaging 138 in last 2 weeks. May the worst man at least look good in dress. Cheers.
