The MFFL DRAFT is scheduled for Saturday August 29th
There is nothing better than getting a win during your week 1 matchup of the fantasy season. In this league, all you are thinking if how many more wins will I need to make sure I will not wear the dress at the draft next year. After that, then you start to concentrate on how you can make the playoffs.
Unfortunately, for these seven Mooseknuckle League Managers, they were unable to secure their first win of the season. Let us recap their matchups, and their look at their teams moving forward.
Let’s be real, Jon had 0.0% chance of winning this week. He was going against me, arguably the best fantasy football player in the league without a title. Like, the Matt Ryan of the MFFL. There was nothing I loved more than watching Michael Thomas and Drew Brees combine for less than 25 points while Alvin Kamara threw up a 23 burger on them. Jon had an iffy draft to begin with. Drafting multiple kickers, defenses, and backup Packer’s QB Jordan Love did not do the First Champ. After week 1, I think it is safe to say that Jon is not making the playoffs this year.
Can someone please let Jake know that Jacoby Brissett is backing up Phillip Rivers this year? However, after the beatdown the Jacksonville Jaguars gave the Indianapolis Colts, Jake maybe onto something here. However, when your RBs combine for less than 11 points, there is no way you are winning in this league. DeAndre Hopkins had a great debut for the Arizona Cardinals, catching a career high 14 passes, but the rest of his team was unimpressive. Jake will be competing for the Sacko bowl this year, but I think he avoids it again.
Let me be clear on this. Trevor’s team is better than what we saw Week 1, and I believe his team is a borderline playoff team. He started the wrong players, but in his defense, it is probably the lineup everyone would have played this week. If he started Robbie Anderson over Devante Parker, you get an additional 16.8 more points. Tough to start a WR2 on a new team, with a new coach, and a new QB. Cannot blame Trevor for playing the reliable option of Devante Parker here. Same thing with Cam Newton over Aaron Rodgers. Minnesota’s Defense was supposed to be good. Aaron Rodgers was supposed to be old and washed up. Starting Cam over Aaron cost Trevor another 14.06 points. I will say it once and I will say it again. Trevor’s team is good enough to squeak into the playoffs.
This was my favorite one to write. Everyone in the MFFL is hoping for a Sacko Repeat. Even if it is our beloved Commissioner. There was nothing to be excited for with this dumpster fire lineup. Scoring less than 90 points in a full point PPR League is embarrassing, but also a very bad way to start the year. Will the Matt be the first repeated Sacko? Fingers crossed everyone!
This was a matchup that could go either way. Gavin vs. Tony. Does anyone else notice that they kind of look alike too? Weird. They also make two MFFL favorite dips man. Buffalo Chicken vs. Rotel Dip. Both will make you shit; Odell Beckam Jr would be horny. Gavin has a better team that Tony. Tony just got lucky and is very grateful to get his first win in week 1. It took him until at least Week 8 to get his first win last year. Do not fact check me, I am not looking that up. Gavin will be in the playoffs in 2020.
Matt, if you are reading this it means you discovered the internet. Nicely done sir! This maybe your best fantasy football team you have ever drafted, and you still drafted Antonio Brown and Delanie Walker. Matt probably will not make the playoffs, but you also will not see any more pictures of him in a dress anytime soon.
From first to worst? Very likely. It is tough not having your 1st and 3rd round pick in the draft. Dan sold his soul for his 2nd MFFL Championship trophy (can you really blame him?) and then he broke our fantasy football trophy that was a staple to our league this offseason. We all look forward to seeing you in a dress in 2021!
