The MFFL DRAFT is scheduled for Saturday August 29th
All right all the you Mooseknucklers, here is a breakdown of all the shit transactions that occurred over this week’s waiver wire.
The R-words dropped Ryan Succop (TB-K) and added Mason Crosby (GB-K). Overall, this was not a bad drop and add with an overall price tag of $0.00, who doesn’t love a free kicker…Okay, lets break this down a little further; Ryan Succop scored 5.00 fantasy points in week 1 compared to Mason Crosby’s 12.00 points. The Buccaneers have some kinks to work out on their offense, however; with Tom Brady behind the helm and some notable wide receivers, I imagine talent and skill will catch up rather soon presenting Succop with additional opportunity to kick it through those up-rights. Mason Crosby, well he’s a stud. Not to mention, he has Aaron Rodgers leading the Packers. There is one thing worth mentioning, Aaron Rodgers is injury prone and without Aaron the Pack attack will falter and with that, Mason Crosby’s opportunities.
The Goatse dropped Philadelphia’s Def and added Arizona’s Def. Last week Philly faced Washington and walked away with 5.00 fantasy points compared to Arizona who faced the San Francisco 49’s who earned 10.00 points. This add came at a cost however, The Goatse paid $3.00 FAAB for the transaction. Going further into the transaction, the AZ Def faces a Washington offense that is still young and working things out. This presents an opportunity for the AZ def to claim another 10.00 fantasy points; yahoo has them projected to earn 9.02 points – I project 8 points.
The Goatse didn’t stop there, he also added Marquez Valdes-Scantling (GB-WR) and dropped Bryan Edwards (LV-WR). The transaction cost The Goatse $12 FAAB. I like the drop and add here as Aaron Rodgers appears to have shaken the prior years slump and is starting hot. Injury risk is always present with aged quarterbacks, however, if Davante Adams goes down – MVS stands to gain target share. Cost of transaction, justified. Total transaction cost of $15.00 FAAB, or 15% of annual spend.
With his secondary TE, Blake Jarwin (Dal) going down with a torn ACL an extra bench spot opened for the Moose. Adding Curtis Samuel (CAR – WR) at a cost of $5.00. The Moose currently has 6 WR’s on his team, depth is always a strong play considering the current operating environment. In week one Samuel generated 9.30 fantasy points against the Las Vegas Raiders. Samuel is an interesting player this year as the WR is being utilized as a WR/RB with 1 rushing attempt for 5 yards and 8 targets with 5 receptions. With Teddy Bridgewater leading the Panthers, I am bullish on Samuel and the Panthers as their schedule is ranked with a moderate to easy schedule. I project 12 fantasy points for this weeks match up against the Buccs.
The MFFL Weasel added the Tampa Bay Def and dropped the Los Angeles Def all at a cool cost of $ $7 FAAB. This transaction has merit as the Los Angeles Chargers face the formidable Kansas City Chiefs. The LA DEF is projected to garnish only 4.48 points – I project 2 points, while Tampa Bay faces the Carolina Panthers and are projected by Yahoo to earn 9.3 points. Yahoo has been wrong before, a lot actually. Teddy Bridgewater might ball out, and of course they have Christian McCaffrey leading the backfield. I am taking a bearish position and project only 6 points out of the Bucs Def.
Big spender Alert! Kanye2020 added Dallas Goedert (PHI – TE) and dropped Jack Doyle (IND – TE) for $8 FAAB. Additionally, Kanye2020 added Malcom Brown (LAR – RB) and placed Lev Bell (NYJ -RB) on IR. Prior transaction cost Kanye his 2020 election chances (#MAGA) at a whooping cost of $38 FAAB. Total weekly spend of $46 FAAB, or 46% of annual FAAB. “Let’s see how this one plays out boys.” Breaking down the transactions, lets first look at the TE swap.
Goedert was a hot pick up this week as he had an impressive showing against Washington earning 24.1 fantasy points. Compared against Jack Doyle’s 7.9 fantasy points against Jacksonville. Goedert does have competition at TE with Zach Ertz who has an established history with quarterback Carson Wentz. Philly loves their trick plays and involve many players, leaving Goedert a potential boom and bust candidate. As for Malcom Brown, this was a necessary add for Kanye2020 as depth is needed in his RB core. With a high price tag, Brown better pay off for Kanye. Brown is projected by Yahoo to acquire 10.84 points from a Screaming Eagle secondary. This after coming off a booming 26.00 points against a week Dallas secondary. Akers is still the primary back; the question is who the prominent goal line back and lead pass catcher? Time will tell.
