FAAB Recommendation
After I took the 180 point week L, I needed a little vacation from these recaps. But I am back and I feel rejuvenated, and uhh Week 8 of the MFFL season didn't quite have the Juice that we've been used to seeing this year. The weather seemingly played a factor as only six of 12 games had 50 points or more scored. That also explains the lower than usual fantasy production. So there were players who disappointed, but I'm here to tell you all how it played out and catch you up on everything you need to know about Week 8. Buckle up bitches.
We'll start first with the Skank Bowl - where you saw the 2-5s go against the 1-6s. Ultimately Matt Dietrich finds himself a victory over Champ Dan Serra. Both squads fell short of their projections overall, but Matt saw another nice performance from Gio Bernard, who will likely become irrelevant again and end up on waivers (Editor UPDATE: He is now on waivers!). He also saw a steady stream of points coming from the Wide Receiver position. You can say that Matt played a little defense as well by starting Carson Wentz who throws to Dan's top performer Travis Fulgham, in order to cancel out some of those points scored. Dan's in a tough spot, with not much going right for his team. He did plug in nice streamers in Rivers and Bourne, but ultimately it wasn't enough, he looks to try to get back on track going against Jon in Week 9.
Beaumont Pagel as his team name indicates, has already started doing the Mooseknuckle Shuffle - celebrating his 5th win in the MFFL and locking up a top 3 position by defeating Matt Knott. The story remains the same for Knott, where 45% of his scoring comes from Patty Mahomes, and it'll be difficult to beat Beaumont with 2 guys on your team goosing. One not even suiting up for the game! You can expect this from Matt Knott once or twice every season, but this year felt different - as 2 weeks ago he was tied for the best record in the damn league. Unbelievable. But back to Reece, well both MFFL commishes, they each own a piece of the Seattle WRs and they're the most exciting players to watch in the NFL right now. The arrow is still pointing up for Reece and he get's the lucky break of now going against Tony, who sold the team to better prepare for 2021. Meanwhile Knott has sunk back down to his normal 10th place and will go against I Eat Pieces of Shit.
The trade for potential 1-hit-wonder DeeJay Dallas pays off in a big time victory for Jake Warren. Dallas could have had an even better game, as he had a 6-yard touchdown overturned on replay, as his foot was just out of bounds before he hit the pylon. Jake's team is made up of just 3 NFL teams, and when they play well, he's showing up in the weekly recap. Kevin Holland's team on the other hand, just ate a giant Shit Sandwich. The only bright spot for his squad - Brandon Aiyuk, who is the only healthy 49er football player left and will continue to put up major points in the coming weeks. Injuries and bye weeks delivered him the crushing loss, not necessarily Jake's performance. There are better days ahead for his team. Getting to play Trevor should help get things back to normal.
Zach Gratton finds himself in the recap article regularly, and we always know who gets the credit. Mr. Unliiimited Russell Wilson now has the second most passing touchdowns over the first seven games of the season in NFL history! Just one short of Tom brady. They're 'letting Russ Cook', to the tune of 3 TD passes every week. Robert Woods caught and ran in a touchdown that ultimately crushed the spirits of Trevor Cushard. That's Trevor's third consecutive loss, what was once a playoff bound team is now finding himself as a regular in the Sacko Watch articles.
League douche Chris Barker once again putting up video game like numbers, as he almost doubles Gavin Fahey's score in week 8. For Chris it's the usual suspects at the top - Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill and Alvin Kamara. He picks up and plays a great Defense in Philadelphia, as well as Jared Cook who's scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks. The usage of Adams around the goal-line has him in the argument as fantasy’s No. 1 overall player, especially when Aaron Jones sits. Gavin has taken this shitty performance and strengthened his team in a trade with Tony Vester. Gavin is going for it all this year, and we'll see if he gets things going against Matt Dietrich in week 9.
The MFFL horseshoe firmly placed in Tony Vester's buttcheeks brings him yet another victory. Chef Dalvin Cook gave him 55% (Fifty Fiiiiive) of his total points. How did Tony reward Dalvin? By instantly trading him away for picks! The chef sure looks healthy, by rushing 226 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Ryan Sarros's team got gashed again. Josh Allen has under performed in 3 straight games, and his running back output has fallen off a cliff. Ryan keeps refreshing the Trading Block channel in Slack hoping to find someon to trade with to piece together a win or two, in effort to avoid dress shopping next summer.
The Hebrew Hammer Matt Orzolek got his third straight win in a close battle with Jon Jakusz. Trading for Lamar Jackson hasn't quite delivered on the points you'd expect, but he's finding it in other areas like Travis Kelce and Keenan Allen. Kelce is just a regular third down conversion machine, and is on pace for another 1,000 yard season. The wins keep piling up, and Orzolek's team seems ready for a deep playoff run. Jon has struggled with 1st rounder Michael Thomas still sitting out, and Jonathon Taylor not performing like the 2nd round pick he hoped for. He does get the help of playing Dan Serra this week, but even that is no guarantee. Dan lives on the waiver wire and get's closer and closer to a victory every week. Jon needs to come prepared in week 9.
Everybody's beef is rather cold and shriveled after this week, But Chris Barker has a steady supply of those little blue pills, keeping the Beef in its upright position. Keep doing what you're doing bud, it seems to work. Disregard that warning about it lasting longer than 4 hours.. keep the beef swingin'.
Waivers already ran, as I am late as shit with this article. So look for my recap on available players next week. Hope everyone has an excellent week. Stay healthy, best of luck with your matchups. If you've read this article up to this point.. be the first to comment "meat flaps" in Slack and I'll send some Faab your way. Have a good one!
